The Regional museum of history is a cultural and scientific center of Blagoevgrad, which protects and promotes historical heritage of the region.
Here everyone can see artifacts from different historical periods feel more patriotic or show his foreign friends the beauty and richness of Bulgarian tradition and history.
In the Regional Museum of History – Blagoevgrad you will find:
- various departments such as „Archaeology“, „Nature“, „Funds“, „Folk Art“, „Religious and educational struggles“ and others

- contemporary photo laboratory
- products from the Thracians period – weapons of a Thracian warrior

- unique collections of costumes, textiles, ceramics, wood, metal – from the end of 19th to the beginning of 20th century
- valuable documentary materials – personal belongings of activists of the National liberation movement, letters of Gotse Delchev and others.
- the exhibition „Skaptopara, Gorna Dzhumaya, Blagoevgrad” that shows the history of Blagoevgrad from the 6th century B.C. up to the '80s of 20th century. Visitors can walk the streets of the old town and look in shops, schools, tobacco warehouses and others.
