Sale of hazelnut and walnut saplings – Petrovi 13

Petrovi 13 deals with sale of hazelnut and walnut saplings and its main activity is growth and export of saplings.

• Hazelnut – this is the earliest blooming fruit tree. The moisture-loving plant has a highly branched root system. It gives 10-12 kg of fruits after 3-4 years and most fruits are borne after the tenth year. Places at an altitude of over 700 m are suitable for growing hazelnut trees. The perrenial shrub-like plant reaches 3-4 metres in height.
• Ran Trapezundski hazelnut variety – it starts to bear nuts early and fruits ripen in the second half of July. They are large and difficult to separate from the stone.
• Tonda Gentile hazelnut variety – fruits are rounded and medium-sized and are easy to separate from the stone.
• Roman hazelnut variety – fruits are large, they are easy to separate from the stone and ripen in the second half of August.
• Walnut – The number of walnut gardens is largest in Pleven, Plovdiv, Haskovo and Stara Zagora, whereas separate trees can be found in all parts of the country. The lifespan of walnut trees is about 200-300 years. Single trees grow from seed and begin to bear fruit after 12-15 years, while the grafted trees in the gardens start to give fruits after 3-6 years and the maximum amount of fruits is given after 12 years. The average yield from one tree is about 40-80 kg.
• Sliven variety – it has strong elliptic and oblong fruits. Nuts are easy to separate from the stone. The variety isn't very sensitive to anthracnose.
• Sheinovo variety – fruits are medium-sized, with a thin shell that is easy to break. The nut has 72% fats and is easy to separate from the stone.
• Dryanovski variety – it is very sensitive to bacteriosis, but resistant to anthracnose. It has round fruits. They are very strong and vary in size from large to very large.
